Title: When is the Student t-statistic asymptotically standard normal?

Abstract: Answering a question from Logan et al., AOP 1(1973)788--809, it is shown that the student t-statistic based on an i.i.d. sequence $X_i,\ i\in{\bf N}$, is asymptotically standard normal if and only if $X_1$ is in the domain of attraction of the normal law.
